Who we are
NeuraReply is operated by Seth Rao, based in Newton, Massachusetts. We help local businesses reply to their Google reviews. You can reach us any time at sethkrao2@gmail.com.
What we collect
When a business signs up, we store:
- Business name, category, address, and the Google location it belongs to
- A contact name, email address, and phone number
- Reply preferences, such as which star ratings may be answered automatically
Once a business authorizes us, we also store the reviews on their Google Business Profile. Reviews are public information published by customers on Google, and include the reviewer’s display name, star rating, review text, and the date it was left. We store the replies we draft, and whether each one was approved and posted.
Google user data
NeuraReply’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We request the
business.managescope. It is used for exactly two things: reading the reviews on locations you have authorized, and posting replies to those reviews on your behalf. - We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to anyone, other than the service providers listed below who process it in order to operate NeuraReply.
- We do not use Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- No human at NeuraReply reads your Google data except where you have asked us to help with a specific problem, where it is needed for security, or where the law requires it.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of providers to run the service:
- Vercel hosts the application.
- Supabase stores the database.
- Anthropic generates the reply text. Review content is sent to Anthropic’s API to draft a reply. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through its API.
- Google is the source of the reviews and where replies are posted.
We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.
Turning us off
You can revoke NeuraReply’s access to your Google account at any time, without asking us, from your Google account’s third-party access settings. Access stops immediately. Replies already posted to Google stay posted, since they are on your profile and belong to you.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data while your account is active. Ask us to delete it and we will remove your business record, your stored reviews, and the drafted replies within 30 days. Replies already published to Google are part of your Google profile, and you can edit or delete those yourself in Google Business Profile.
Security
Authorization tokens and API credentials are stored as encrypted environment secrets and are never exposed in the browser. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if we ever learn your data has been exposed.
Children
NeuraReply is a tool for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and email you if the change materially affects how your data is handled.
